The largest revelation in the games story is that Queen Merika and her constort Radagon are the same person.
This is a direct reference to both The Bride in the Large Glass being referred to as the divine hermaphodite, as well as to the larger Gilgamesh creation myth. Specifically regarding the story of the World Tree and that there was a snake a hawk and a woman that were chased from the tree at some point after its creation.
Further the Gilgamesh religion specifically describes their gods as being able to inhabit two different forms at the same time.
